Abstract

778,915. Folding chairs. TURNER, H. R. Sept. 14, 1955 [June 19, 1954; Aug. 31, 1954; June 17, 1955], Nos. 18066/54, 25206/54 and 17484/55. Class 52 (2). A folding chair of tubular metal has a back frame 1, a seat 2 pivoted thereto, fore legs 3 pivoted at 5 to lugs 6 on frame 2 and connected by parallel links 7 to the back frame and a telescopic strut, consisting of members 10, 11, pivoted between the seat and back frames and having a releasable locking device comprising a catch 15, on member 10 having hooks engaging lugs on member 11, the seat folding upwardly against the back frame. In a modification (Fig. 3) the bases of legs 3 are pivotally connected to a V-shaped link 30 to which is connected member 11.
