Abstract

635,794. Track brakes. THURSTON, J. H., and LAKIN, R. J. Nov. 18, 1947, No. 30572. [Class 103 (i)] A vehicle brake comprises a cranked lever 5 pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis 6 and carrying a pedal 8 at its upper end whilst its lower end is connected by a link 11 to a brake carrying lever 12 pivoted at 13 to swing in a vertical plane. The brake shoe 17 is pivoted at 16 to the lever 12 and is held in a mean position by a spring 19. Take-off springs 15 and the adjustable stop 20 which may be spring loaded limit the maximum force which can be applied to the pedal 8.
