635,421. Induction heating. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd., PINKNEY, A. J., and RICHARDS, J. H. April 9, 1948, No. 9664. [Class 39 (iii)] A H.F. work coil a is provided with a core b of ferrite material having marked ferro-magnetic properties whilst being a non- conductor and having a low-loss factor at high frequencies. A water cooling jacket c may be incorporated and a passage a with an outlet e may be included for quenching fluid. It is stated that the inclusion of the core b results in improvement in the efficiency of the heating produced by the work coil. The core material may be composed of mixed ferrite material. Specifications 1361/47, 7578/47, (both open to inspection under Sect. 91), 614,181, 616,932, 620,009, 626,946 628,823, 629,031, 631,602, 631,886, 633,107, 634,504, 645,056 and 655,666, [all in Group XXXV], are referred to.
