Abstract

635,306. Tank fittings. A. P. V. CO., Ltd., (formerly ALUMINIUM PLANT & VESSEL CO., Ltd.), and CROSBY, W. E. Aug. 22, 1947, No. 23349. [Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] An expansion joint comprises a flexible metal diaphragm 10 closing a tank 5 except for an opening in its centre where it is rigidly connected to a pipe. The tank 5 has a ring 12 welded to it and the diaphragm 10 is clamped between the ring 12 and a clamping ring 13 with packing as desired. The diaphragm 10 has a central circular hole of identical diameter to that of a pipe to be connected to it. The pipe has a ring 15 attached to it and the inner edge of the diaphragm 10 is clamped between the ring and a clamping ring 16 with a second clamping ring 18 and packing interposed if necessary. Specification 10199/12, [Class 99 (i)], is referred to.
