594,620. Flexible pipes. STERLING INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and THOMAS, P. E. June 20,1945, No. 15720. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group XXI] A flexible pipe has inner and outer metallic corrugated tubes 2, 1 respectively of such dimensions as to leave an annular space 3 between them which is filled with a fireextinguishing or self-sealing medium, the outer tube being welded at 5 to an end fitting 4 and the inner tube clamped against a conical surface of the end fitting by a clamping ring 8 when the end fitting is screwed on to a terminal member 10. The terminal member may incorporate self-closing couplings of the kind described in Specification 585,038.
