633,038. Compasses. FIELD & SONS (REDDITCH), Ltd., F., and VERNON, J. E. Dec. 4, 1947, No. 32004. [Class 97 (iii)] Each leg of a drawing compass comprises a single length of wire 1, 2 which at one end is bent to form a pivot socket 3, the other end of one leg being shaped to form a point and the other end of the other single length of wire being shaped to form a pencil holder. The pencil holder may be formed by bending the wire into a plurality of bends 4, 5 encircling the pencil for more than half its circumference at places distanced apart, the other end of the other leg being shaped to form a point. The two sockets 3 may be pivoted on an eyelet 6 or on a pivot pin screwed for a retaining nut. A third piece of wire having one end curled to form a socket and at the other end forming a finger-piece, may be mounted on the pivot between the sockets 3. The pointed leg 2 is bent inwardly so that the pencil point and compass point may be moved close together.
