Abstract

632,880. Textile uptwisting machines. LLOYD (ROCHDALE), Ltd., R. A., and LLOYD, R. A. Oct. 7, 1947, No. 26900. [Class 120 (ii)] An uptwisting machine in which delivery spindles C are driven by contact with a common band C<SP>1</SP> has, between each pair of upright supports, a single beam B and spindle brackets c are secured to the side flanges of the beam. Each beam B also carries a horizontal pulley B<SP>1</SP> to engage the inner faces of the driving band C<SP>1</SP> on either side of the machine, in order to maintain the band in contact with the spindles. The shafts carrying the driving rollers E<SP>1</SP> for the take-up bobbins H may be made in lengths corresponding to the distance betwen the upright supports A and arranged for ready disconnection and removal. Each support A carries a short shaft f, Fig. 4, having dogs or teeth f<SP>1</SP> to engage with corresponding dogs or teeth e on a driving roller shaft E. The ends of 'the two shafts are surrounded by a sleeve e<SP>1</SP> secured by a set-screw. Specification 599,938 is referred to.
