Abstract

In a spinning machine having a driving band with a substantially straight stretch contacting a number of spindles and a number of tensioning rolls each of which is mounted on a cantilever arm, the cantilever arms are resilient and successive rollers are so mounted on their arms that the band remains appropriately tensioned in whichever direction the band is driven. Each roller is mounted on a shaft carried cantileverwise in a lug of an anglepiece of which the web is carried by a cantilever arm of resilient steel. The arms may be arranged in pairs, Fig. 2 not shown, the arms in each pair extending outwardly in opposite directions and being integral with a common member that is adjustably bolted to the spindle rail. A damping-member (10, Fig. 3 not shown) may be disposed between each lug and the spindle rail. The arms may all extend in the same direction, but the lugs of successive angle pieces are attached to opposite ends of the corresponding webs, (Fig. 5, not shown).
