805,178. Warping machines. F. N. F. MACHINERY MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. July 3, 1957 [July 13. 1956]. No. 21791/56. Class 142(1) A warping machine has a roller 20 mounted on a movable axis and a reed 19 movable with the roller axis, the yarns passing through the reed, round the roller and immediately on to the beam. The yarns are sandwiched between the roller and the beam. Yarns 10 from a creel pass through a reed 11, round two tension rollers 13, 15 controlled by a brake band 17 and weight 18, through a stop-motion 16, and through the movable reed 19 and round the roller 20 to the beam 5. The reed 19 and the roller 20 are mounted on an arm or arms 24 pivoted at 25. The beam is driven from an electric motor in a casing 8 and controlled by a handle 9. The roller 20 is provided with a brake and a counterbalance weight which permit alteration of yarn tension. Each end of the roller 20 has a small bevelled flange 26 (Fig. 3) to prevent the yarns spilling outwards. Each end of the beam 5 is correspondingly chamfered.
