630,405. Constructional ironwork . ,SPEIRS, A. J. SLEEMAN-. Oct. 14, 1947, No. 27536. [Class 20(ii)] Beams 1 are joined by means of yokes 11 having side plates 6 between which tongues 2 on the ends of the beams are inserted and secured by bolts 3. In this way lattice or bowstring bridge girders are built up. The beams and joints are of uniform width and have a flat surface to enable the girders to be moved on rollers. The tongues 2 have slots fitting over the web 5 of the beam 1. The end of the beams may be reinforced by plates 8. Two girders side by side may be connected by transverse beams 17.
