Abstract

1441310 Beams ROLF TELLSTEDT AB 14 Aug 1973 [14 Aug 1972] 38448/73 Headings E1K and E1W A tubular rectangular cross section beam I for spanning between two supports i.e. 2 includes upper and lower flanges 12 and 18 interconnected by web plates. A tensionable stay 4 is connected between the ends of the beam where it is fixed by an anchoring plate 11 and at which ends it is inclined to the longitudinal direction of the beam, at least one pressure rod being provided between the ends of the beam to transfer load laterally between the stay and the beam. The anchorage of the stay on the anchoring plate 11 is spaced from the neutral axis 10 of the beam towards the side of the beam end support 19. The beam may be of steel or wood. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 1335083.
