Abstract

629,096. Bolting. LINDSAY, Ltd., H., and LINDSAY, H. Aug. 22, 1946, No. 25032. [Class 89 (i)] [Also in Groups X and XXX] A clip for securing the flanges of rails, girders &c. to adjacent girders or other articles comprises a bolt 9, Fig. 7, having one or a pair of clips 1, one end of which grips the rail &c. flange whilst the other bears on the girder or other member to which the rail &c. is to be secured, the clip having an elongated hole 2 providing clearance for the bolt. The gripping faces of the clip are serrated and the clamping pressure is applied by a nut 10 through a washer 6 having a curved face corresponding to the curved upper surface of the clip. Transversely disposed girders 12, 12, Figs. 8, 9 may be coupled by 4 bolts, each carrying two clips 1 in perpendicular planes, the thrust of the clamping pressure being taken by angle plates 13 having flanges 15 which are coupled by bolts 14.
