Abstract

838,828. Clamps. KING, D. M. Nov. 28, 1957 [Dec. 28, 1956], No. 39518/56. Class 44 A device for attaching items to flanged joists 12 comprises two similar clip-like elements 10, 11 of channelled or substantially U-shape in section and each having an aperture in the base portion thereof and a single securing or clamping bolt 14, the arrangement being such that the cliplike elements 10, 11 are adapted to be applied one over each flange and thereafter clamped to the joist by means of the bolt 14 which is introduced through the aligned apertures in the base portions of the elements 10, 11 and passes transversely across the outer face of the flange. As shown, set screws 16 are provided to prevent tilting of the elements 10, 11. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), a plate is bolted to the lower limbs of the elements 10, 11 and to this plate is attached another plate at right angles thereto for supporting items of equipment.
