Class 44 A clamping device consists of a metal block a of substantially U - shape to to which an eye attachment b is welded and one or more hard pointed or concave ended screws c operating in the block which are adapted to penetrate a structural member or a member to be clamped thereto. As shown, the device is clamped to the flange of a girder and supports a hanger g. In other arrangements, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the device is used to clamp a fitting to the flange, with the interposition between the fitting and the flange, of a hardened wire insert. In futher arrangements, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the device is clamped directly to the flange and supports attachments which are carried by the screw c.
