Abstract

1,038,075. Conductors. INSUL-8-CORPORATION. May 6, 1964 [May 16, 1963], No. 19590/63. Heading H1A. [Also in Divisions E2 and H2] A suspension device for a conductor rail, which may have a figure-8 cross-section, comprises a clamp with two jaws 1, 2 made from a heat-resistant insulating material which are mounted on a support bracket 5 by means of a bolt 7 with nut 6. The ends of the jaws on one side of the axis of bolt 7 abut, and on the other are shaped to surround part of rail 3, which is gripped by them when nut 6 is tightened. An insulating sheath 4 may be provided between the rail and the jaws of the clamp and the support bracket may be earthed. A bolt 8 secures the device to a wall or girder and the clamped rail may be rotated in a horizontal plane about the axis thereof when aligning during assembly. Similarly, limited rotation in a vertical plane is possible about the axis of bolt 7.
