Abstract

791,377. Clamps. KENRICK, G. June 18, 1956 [July 4, 1955], No. 18823/56. Class 61. An earthing clamp comprises an L-shaped first jaw 8 having a work biting tip 9-11 on its shorter limb, a second jaw slidable on the longer limb of the first jaw, an earth wire terminal screw 25 on one of the jaws, a sleeve 15 on the second jaw which is co-axial with the work biting tip, a screw thread 16 inside the sleeve which does not extend to either end of the sleeve, and a work biting stem 19 which screws in the thread and has unthreaded end portions 21, 23 which respectively project from the ends of the sleeve. The work biting tip consists of a steel set screw 9 held in selected adjustment in the shorter limb of the jaw 8 by a lock nut 10. The set screw has a work biting end formed as a circular knife edge indicated at 11. The work biting stem 19 has a working end having one or more circular knife edges 20.
