'[Class 26] A device for application to an overflow pipe 13 of a water-waste-preventing cistern 14 comprises a tubular element composed of two limbs 10 and 11 disposed at an angle to each other, extending from the inner end of the overflow pipe 13 to a point below the normal level of water in the cistern and having a small breather tube 12 associated with it to allow access to the air and to prevent any syphonic action should the water in the cistern overflow when the device is fitted. The tubular element may be a one-piece structure or be two limbs welded or otherwise secured together. It may fit into the pipe 13 or be coupled or otherwise joined to the inner end of it. The angle between the limbs 10, 11, and the position and form of the breather tube, may be varied.
