629,583. Ventilators. ROE, J. J. A. May 18, 1944, No. 9537. Divided out of 587,937. [Class 137] In vehicle ventilators having a louvred cover 20 arranged over an aperture in the body, some 23, of the louvres face forwardly and the rest 24 rearwardly, the interior of the box-like cover and the aperture being divided by a transverse partition 26, the lower vertical end of which is engaged within an N-shaped strip 28 extending across a tube 27. Depending from the other loop of the strip a partition 36 is secured to a disc 33 supported beneath the aperture; separate paths are thus provided for air entering through louvres 23 and the air extracted through louvres 24. A baffle plate 25 overlapping the edges of the aperture is disposed between it and the cover and a watercollecting channel 29 formed by a flanged tube within the aperture permits of discharge of water through holes 30. The baffle plate may be in separately hinged halves enabling either set of louvres to be rendered inoperative, or the louvres themselves may be hinged or have adjacent shutters. The cover may be swung open about a hinge 31.
