Abstract
629,062. Motor-cycle foot-rests. SANDERS & CO., Ltd., A. J., TAYLOR, L. E., and SANDERS, R. J. Oct. 25, 1947, No. 28575. [Class 136.(iii)] A pivotally mounted motor-cycle foot rest comprises a pressed metal bracket 10 having outwardly projecting flanges 28 to which is pivotally connected a shank 20 surrounded by a rubber sleeve 22 forming the rest for the foot, the shank being formed as a metal pressing and having a substantially tubular portion enlarged to channel section adjacent the bracket. The bracket 10 is of channel form and has in its closed side 11 an aperture 12 through which extends a bolt 13 for securing the bracket to the cycle frame 14. A distance piece 18 is interposed between the bracket and the frame and has serrations 19 co-operating with corresponding serrations in the face 11 of the bracket. The enlarged channel portion 23 of the shank 20 comprises two lugs 24 projecting approximately at right angles to the shank which is pivoted on the bracket 10 by means of a pin 26 passing through holes in the bracket and through corresponding holes 25 in the lugs 24.
