628,894. Casting concrete walls in situ. FINNEMORE, F. May 5, 1947, No. 12041. Convention date, May 27, 1946. [Class 20 (ii) ] A travelling mould for casting walls in concrete comprises side walls 1, 2 and a front plunger-like wall 3 which is adapted to be forced against the freshly moulded sector by a lever 11 which is supported on the side walls, which are thus drawn forward to a new position, the mould being supported on a lower course of the wall by pivoted projections 18. The side walls are secured together so that the distance between them is adjustable, by overlapping U-shaped brackets 7 secured together by bolts 4. Wheels 21 on a telescopic shaft covered by the side walls support the mould on a lower course. To ensure bonding of successive courses a blade 40 on one bracket 7 scrapes a groove in the upper surface of the concrete, and the front and rear plates 3, 15 of the mould are provided with projecting pieces to form vertical grooves and holes 43 for reinforcing wires. The side walls have the lower edges slightly farther apart than the upper edges and the near ends than the front ends to facilitate withdrawal of the mould. For constructing a circular wall the mould is guided by a radius bar pivoted on a centre pole and also supported by a chain connected to the centre pole.
