Abstract

779,390. Moulds for concrete slabs. UNION JOINERY & IMPORTING CO., Ltd. Aug. 9, 1955 [Aug. 18, 1954], No. 22893/55. Class 87(2). Concrete slabs with a pattern of transverse holes are cast in a dismountable mould divided into moulding spaces by plates 17 on the faces of which cores 15 are detachably mounted by slidable cross pins 16. The components are shown in the " exploded " position in the crosssection of the mould shown in Fig. 2, and are held in place, when in use, by cross bolts 18, on which also reinforcement mats 25 are threaded. The mats are free to move along the bolts but are held steady by spacers 27. Serrations may be formed in the bottom edges of the plates by a bottom lining 22, on the inside of the mould bore 10, formed with saw-tooth corrugations 23. The top edges of the cast plates are serrated by screeding, the sides of the mould being serrated along their top edges to allow this. The faces of the mould are previously greased. The mould is vibrated as the concrete is poured in.
