[Also in Division E1] A composite railway sleeper comprising two concrete blocks joined by a steel angle stay is moulded in a pair of metal moulds 13 having closable apertures 14 for the flanges 3, 4 of the angle. Cores 16 rigid with the mould have shoulders to locate the angle, by passing through holes for chair clamping bolts, the angle being held on the cores by removable cores 19 providing apertures for the clamping bolt heads.
