Abstract
1389619 Moulding concrete members KAISER-DECKEN GmbH & CO KG 24 May 1972 [25 May 1971 7 March 1972] 24474/72 Heading B5A Concrete members comprising two spaced slabs 7, 9 (Fig. 4), interconnected by reinforcing members 8 are cast in a pair of moulds 1, 2 one of which 1 is hinged 3 (Fig. 2), to be rotatable through 180 degrees to overlie the second mould 2, while being spaced therefrom by spacers 4, and includes releasable means 5 for holding the slab 7 in position. With the moulds as shown, in Fig. 2, a steel mat and at least one reinforcing member 8 are placed in mould 1, the concrete cast, vibrated and left to set. After setting, mould 2 is charged with concrete, mould 1 is rotated by crane through 180 degrees, vibration is applied to embed the members 8, and the concrete is left to set. The pivot axis 3 is adjustable vertically by an hydraulic cylinder 6 to secure the members 8 and alter the spacing of slabs 7, 9; spacers 4 are replaceable by different sizes. In an alternative embodiment, the pivot axis is fixed and the corners of the second mould 2 are mounted on resilient supports 17 (Fig. 7), and tubes 21 telescoping on posts 20. The height of mould 2 is adjustable by engaging a pin 23 with a different post slot 22, or replacing the tubes 21 and posts 20 with hydraulic cylinders. The spacers 4 comprise interchangeable and engaging studs and collars.
