Abstract

628,791. Electric incandescent lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 16, 1947, No. 27768. Convention date, Oct. 19, 1946. [Class 39(ii)] In a tubular lamp of the kind provided with a cap and lead-in wires at one end only, a lead-in wire 7 of angular section is continued by a straight elongated length 8 which extends adjacent to the inside wall of the bulb 1 and at the end remote from the cap is curved inwardly into a semicircular loop 9 for the attachment of one end of the filament 11 which is connected to the lead-in wire 4 at the other end, the whole arrangement being held against lateral displacement by a flexed resilient finger 15 which is spot welded or otherwise secured at one end to the looped extremity 9 of the lead-in wire. Along its length the filament is supported by anchor wires 12 mounted in glass beads 13 fusion-sealed to the section 8 of lead-in wire.
