Abstract

568,761. Incandescent lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 25, 1943, No. 13836. Convention date, Aug. 26, 1942. [Class 39 (ii)] Leading - in wires 15, Fig. 1, carrying a filament 16 and extending a considerable distance into the envelope of the lamp beyond the seal 11 are supported by an arbor 17 extending between them and having 'one or more slots engaged by bent portions 20 of the wires. As shown in Fig. 2, the arbor terminates in a button 18 across which extends a single slot 19, the bent portions of the leading-in wires fitting into the ends of the slot. In a modified construction, Fig. 4, longitudinal slots 19a are formed in the button to receive the wires. Fig. 6 shows a switchboard lamp p in which the leading - in wires 151 sealed between the envelope of the lamp and a bulbous portion 22 of the exhaust tube, are supported by an extension 17<1> of the exhaust tube having grooves 19<1> to receive bent portions 201 of the wires 151.
