Abstract

1,145,415. Electric incandescent lamps. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. 27 Feb., 1968 [10 March, 1967], No. 9379/68. Heading H1F. An electric incandescent lamp comprises a high melting point glass envelope 1 press sealed at one end 2, a pair of parallel conductive support rods 3, 4 extending from the press seal, a pair of spaced quartz rods 6, 7 mounted on and perpendicular to the support rods, a filament 9 connected at its ends to the support rods and suspended by wires 8 embedded in the quartz rods, and a reflector 12 disposed behind the filament and carried by one of the support rods. The envelope preferably contains nitrogen and iodine. The filament is disposed in two parallel planes arranged one behind the other in front of the reflector, and one suspension wire 10 extends upwardly into the sealing tip 5 to stabilize the structure.
