Abstract

627,400. Two-part couplings. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and BRADBURY, F. J. Sept. 16, 1947, No. 25305. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a pipe coupling, which can be adapted for electric supply cables between railway vehicles, a member 14 is locked within a member 13 by a split ring 22 which engages grooves in the members and is releasable by sliding a sleeve 25 formed with fingers 31 extending longitudinally between fingers 32 on the member 13. The members carry plug-and-socket connectors. The sleeve 25 may be connected by wires 28 to one of the vehicles, from which a cable extends to the member 14, so that it is moved to the releasable position before strain is put on the cable.
