Abstract
626,974. Rotary pumps. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd., and SMITH, S. Oct. 7, 1946, No. 29876. '[Class 110(ii)] An adaptor b is fitted to the pump casing, in place of an end plate, and comprises a box with inlet and outlet ports f, g connected by valve controlled passages with two bores h<1> h<2> which communicate respectively with the inlet h<3> and outlet h' of the pump, or if the pump is reversed the inlet and outlet. ports h<3>, h<4> are interchanged. The. liquid being pumped is delivered through a port g, and maybe additional ports g<2>, g<3>. The pump is selfpriming. The original pump inlet and outlet ports a<1>, a<2> are plugged. Removal of plugs f<2>, f<3> will provide additional inlets to the adaptor. The adaptor may be connected to the pump by pipes. The passages closed by plugs f<2>, f<3> may be used alternatively, for different liquids, under control of valves.
