[Class 135] A two-way rotary plug valve for pressure liquid comprises a hollow body a having a . plurality of ports and containing a plug c rotatable by a handle h, and adapted by rotation to the " on position to connect the inlet d to the outlet through an oblique transverse passage i. On turning the plug through 90 degrees to the " off " position, the outlet is connected by a groove g and a hole k to the relief port v. At the same time, the inlet is connected by grooves o and m to the relief port e. Recesses n, p in the body communicating with circumferential grooves o, p in the plug allow the liquid to effect a balance of lateral, pressure on the plug. A groove r communicating with the hole /c prevents leakage of liquid at the handle.
