Abstract

865,647. Valves. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. Sept. 29, 1959 [Sept. 29, 1958], No. 31004/58. Class 135. [Also in Group XI] A rotary cock comprises a body 1 having a liquid inlet 7, Fig. 2, and outlet 8, Fig. 1, an air inlet 9 and outlet 10, and a connecting duct 12 from the air inlet to a blind port 11 to which the liquid outlet is connectible by rotation of the ported plug 3, the plug having an " on " position in which the inlets are connected to their respective outlets, an " intermediate " position, Fig. 2, in which the air inlet is connected to both outlets via the connecting duct and blind port, and an "off" position, Fig. 1, in which the inlets are closed. After the " on " position the air outlet is connected to the air inlet just prior to the connection with the liquid outlet in the " intermediate " position. The cock controls oil and air to a burner, the air also being used to purge the oil line.
