Abstract

609,512. Distribution valves. VESTRE, R. Feb. 18, 1946, No. 5044. Convention date, March 23, 1942. [Class 69 (ii)] A control valve for a hydraulic transmission system wherein a constant volume delivery pump is connected in series with a motor, comprises a valve housing 1 having an inlet byepipe 6,a byepass port 24, ports 20, 22 and ports 21, 23 closed by spring-loaded valves 26, 27, connected to the inlet and exhaust of a motor. The housing 1 contains a piston valve 2 controlled by a rod 16 and has a central bore 17 and lands 14, 15 which control the ports 20, 21, 22, 23 and the byepass 24. In the full position shown, pressure liquid is fully byepassed from the pipe 6 to the pipe 7 while the motor is held stationary by a hydraulic lock due to the valves 26, 27 being closed. As the piston valve is moved, the byepass is gradually closed and the inlet and exhaust ports to the motor opened until full pressure is applied to the motor in either direction.
