Abstract

626,833. Two-part couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd., and BRYCE, S. J. Sept. 4, 1947, No. 24438. [Class 38 (i)] In a plug and socket coupling of the type wherein the plug body 11 is formed of moulded rubber or like resilient material, the plug has an integral flange 14 round the face 13 thereof which meets the socket, an externally screwthreaded ring 15 being located behind said flange, rotatable on the plug and adapted to screw into an internally screw-threaded upstanding wall 18 on the socket cover-plate 4 so as to make a close joint between the two parts of the coupling. A sealing ring 22 may be located in a groove 21 in the cover-plate beneath the flange 14. When the plug is not in position, a blanking bush is screwed into the socket. The flange 14 may project above the face 13 or may lie below it.
