Abstract

626,579. Endless-belt conveyers. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd., and TAYLOR, R. A. July 1, 1947, No. 17293. [Class 78 (i)] A reversible endless belt conveyer 1 is driven by reversible driving means of approximately equal power and disposed at or near opposite ends of the conveyer, each driving means including an electric motor 9, 12, arranged to drive a hydraulic coupling. As shown each motor 9, 12 is a squirrel cage motor and the coupling to the driving pulley 3, 4 includes worm gearing 8, 11. A tensioning device is arranged centrally in the lower run of the belt or alternatively a tensioning device is provided in the lower run adjacent each driving means. Specification 619,075 is referred to.
