Abstract

625,313. Endless conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd., and ORWIN, O. J. B. April 12, 1947, No. 9793. [Class 78 (i)] A power unit for driving a conveyer comprising a frame on which is mounted a prime mover and a driving roller is coupled to the conveyer framework by a member which is movable angularly within given limits about the axis of rotation of the roller. The frame consists of side members 11, 12 of box formation and a base 13. Flanges 15 extending into the members 11, 12, Fig. 2, carry bearings 16 for the shaft 17 of the driving roller 20 which is connected by chain-and-sprocket gearing to the motor 14. The coupling members 23 are disposed between the ends of the roller and the members 11, 12 and are provided with flanges 24, 25, the upper of which supports the conveyer belt. Discs 27, Fig. 4, are provided on the outer side of each member 23 and carry pegs 28 which bear against the inner periphery 29 of rings 30 provided on the walls 22 of the members 11, 12. A flange formed on the end 31 of each member 23 is connected by bolts to the conveyer framework 33. Specification 586,343 is referred to.
