625,981. Cotters ; circlips ; chains. ETABLISSEMENTS E. DERVAUX. Aug. 16, 1946, No. 24504. Convention date, July 12, 1943. [Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXII and XXIII] A plate for retaining grooved joint, link &c. pins in position has an end 1, Fig. 1, shaped according to the cross section of the pin and slotted to a width l to suit the diameter at the bottom of the groove. The end 5 has a slot of width L sufficient to permit the plate to pass over the end of the pin, but is preferably bent back laterally to permit engagement with the pin from the side. When the plate is in place, the end 5 is bent further to engage the end of the pin as shown in Fig. 7 and prevent removal. Special tools, Group XXII, are employed for fixing and removing the plates. Circlips :-When the plates are made of thin spring steel they are formed initially to the shape shown in Fig. 7 and lock automatically as they are applied. Specification 125,300, [Class 24], is referred to.
