Abstract

512,406. Hook-adaptors for bolts. LINDSAY, Ltd., H., and LINDSAY, H. March 20, 1939, No. 8759. [Class 89 (i)] In a hook-adaptor for bolt: of the kind comprising a thick metal washer formed with lateral abutment 5 functionin as a hook, one or more axia projections 1 are provided t engage a surface or surface parallel to the bolt axis, suc surface being provided by on or more of the flanged mem bers or plates 2, 6, to be con nected or by another adapto on the bolt. As shown, th projection 1 engages the edg of the plate 2 and is spaced laterally from the bolt 4 so a to prevent turning of the adaptor. When two adaptors are employed, each may be notched as shown at 10, Fig. 7, to receive the projection 1 on the other. Further, one adaptor may have two spaced projections between which a single projection on the other adaptor may engage. Interengaging teeth and recesses 7, 8 may be provided on the abutment 5 and the adjacent part 6. The hole in one of the adaptors may be threaded so that a threaded stud or set-screw may be employed instead of a nut and bolt. The adaptor may be recessed to receive the bolthead.
