D r i7) in g - chains with separate joint pins. - In chains of the kind wherein pairs of side plates are secured together by bushes, the bush is provided with an external circumferential groove 11, and is adapted to be pressed into the hole in the side plate 6 so that the latter is resiliently engaged by the base of the groove and also makes contact with its sides 15, 16, which may be more or less inclined or bevelled. The bush is notched at 5 to enable its end to contract as the lip 16 is forced through the hole in the plate 6. According to the Provisional Specification, the bush may be provided with one or more projections adapted to be forced through the hole and then spring out to engage the face of the plate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 267,692.
