[Classes 44 and 65 (i)] A door stop and anti-rattle device has a male element, Fig. 1, or female element, Fig. 6, consisting of one or more pieces of sheet metal bent, or folded, to provide surfaces which engage each other with spring pressure. The female element may be used to engage the type of lock bolt described in Specification 571,232. In Fig 1, a single sheet 11 of metal is bent to form a tapering part 12 and with corrugations 15. In modifications the part 12 may be rectangular or tapered, with corrugations in its upper and lower faces, or in its outer face 19, or the metal may be bent to form S-bends where the part 12 joins the plate 11. The female member, Fig. 6, may be formed as shown, with or without a slot 54, or separate upper and lower plates may be fixed to a back plate at points remote from the opening 52. Part of the back plate may be bent up to form a tongue, which acts as a safety catch for a lock bolt. Two engageable parts are shown in Fig. 9, slots 68 being provided in the part 65.
