Abstract
625,710. Valve accessories. ROSS, COURTNEY, & CO., Ltd., and BROOKMAN, L. F. May 7, 1947, No. 12365. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXVII] A tap combined with a lock which may be operated simultaneously to cut the petrol supply to the carburetter of an internalcombustion engine and to break the ignition circuit thereof, particularly on road vehicles, or conversely open the tap and close the circuit, comprises a two-part casing 1, 2, Fig. 1, separated from each other by a flexible diaphragm 13. The part 1 is provided with inlet and outlet passages 5, 6, Fig. 2, through which petrol may pass, and houses a spring-urged ball valve 8 which coacts with a pin 11 having a head 12 for engagement with the diaphragm. The part 2 comprises a cylinder 15 housing a lock cylinder 16 adapted by a cam 17, the diaphragm 13 and the pin 11 on the turning of a key 23 to move the ball 8 from its seat to permit the flow of petrol and at the same time complete the circuit of an ignition coil or other electrical device through spring-pressed pins 25 and contact elements connected to the leads of a cable 28.
