Abstract

362,087. Valve accessories.' ROSS, COURTNEY & CO., Ltd. and BROOKMAN, L. F., 25, Ashbrook Road, Upper Holloway, London. Oct. 13, 1930, No. 30652. [Class 135.] Locks, applications of ; combined with electric switches.-A combined petrol tap or cock and lock with means for short-circuiting the ignition circuit of an internal-combustion engine comprises a casing of two parts 1, 2 the part 1 having the inlet and outlet passages 3, 4, and the valve 10, and the other part 2 being furnished with a rotary cylinder lock 19 and switch 23, 26. The petrol chamber 8 is isolated from the lock chamber bv a flexible diaphragm 11 on which the valve 10 is mounted. The valve is moved to its closed position by a cam element 17 on the lock cylinder preferably furnished with a leaf spring 18. The short-circuiting switch comprises a contact 26 on the cam element 17, which is faced with an insulating disc 27, and a spring contact 23 mounted in insulating material 21 furnished with a metal plug 22 and an insulating cap 24. Contact with the magneto lead is made. between a metal washer 25 and the metal plug. A simpler form of contact arrangement with rotary contact plate and fixed contacts is described for use with coil ignition.
