Abstract
165,394. Wattellier, R. C. June 23, 1920, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Rotary disc valves.-An additional air-valve actuated from the throttle valve comprises a body portion 1 with outlet 5 screwing into the induction pipe 7 between the throttle valve 23 and the engine cylinder. The outlet 5 is controlled by an elongated port in a disc 2 seated in a recess 9 and actuated by a lever 19. Shallow grooves 10 are formed in the bottom of the recess. The disc is enclosed by a cap 12 having air-inlet apertures 13, and is secured by screws 11. Between the cap and the csaing is a spring 21 which presses the disc to its seat. The lever 19 is connected, through a flexible cable 15, to the throttle lever 22 and a spring on the lever 19, and bearing against a pin 20 tends to return the disc to the closing position. A lever 25 carried by a lug 3 may be actuated by a button 28 and flexible cable 26 to move into the path of the lever 19 and lock it in its closed position.
