Abstract

1290. Scott, A. A. Jan. 26. Crank casings.-A cylindrical inlet valve 7 to the crank chamber is mounted on a cylindrical extension 3 of the cover 2 so as to be removable therewith. The part 3 is closed at the end, and has ports in its cylindrical surface and a flange 8 which. is slotted and engages an extension of the crank-pin 10. The cover and valve are secured by a removable portion 15, of the inlet pipe, having a right - angled portion provided with a spherical surface to engage a spherical seat in the part 3, and at its other end another right-angled portion engaging a resilient seating 23 on the fixed inlet pipe 20. The inlet pipe is provided with a forked extension 16 to engage a pin or bolt on the crank case, and is held to the fixed inlet pipe by a yoke 21.
