Abstract

1383327 Preventing running-on of I C engines ROVER CO Ltd 14 April 1972 [15 April 1971] 9572/71 Headings F1B and F1K Excess air is drawn into the inlet manifold 11 when the ignition switch 21 is switched-off to open a valve 19 which provides communication between the manifold and the actuating diaphragm 15 of the spring-biased air inlet valve 13. The valve 19 may be opened by a cam 20 in the switch 21 or a cam (22), Fig. 2, (not shown), connected to the switch by a cable (23). The valve 19 may be incorporated in the ignition switch.
