625,073. Razor-blade sharpeners. GOODERHAM, B. A., and RICH, M. W. Dec. 18, 1946, No. 37323. [Class 60] A sharpener, for double-edged safety razor blades, of the kind comprising honing wheels 2 mounted in a frame 3 on helically twisted parallel rods 1 whereby the wheels are rotated as they are axially reciprocated by the frame, has the holder for the blade 7 comprised of a flexible strip 9 provided with means 8 for penetrating the blade in at least three places and a separate coverplate 10 for securing the blade removably to the flexible strip. Shaped guides 16 on the honing roll frame 3 engage the blade 8 as the frame is reciprocated to turn the blade and allow the then twisted strip 9 to press the blade edges against the honing rolls.
