648,994. Sharpeners for razor blades, knives and scissors. FARESO. J. March 23, 1948, No. 8510. [Class 60] A sharpener for scissors or knives comprises two balls 2, Fig. 1, press fitted, without any screws, nuts, bolts or springs, in a tube 1 mounted on or formed as a stand. A sharpener for double-edged safety razor blades comprises two opposed pairs of sharpening balls 2, Fig. 2, for simultaneously sharpening both edges of the blade. The body parts 1, which are of flexible material, have slightly tapered spaces to receive the balls; adjustment to suit the width of blade is effected by screws 5. A handle 7 is provided. Fig. 10 snows a modification. A sharpener for knives and singleedged razor blades, of the type comprising a pair of sharpening balls, is characterized in that the sharpener is formed in two parts 1, 1, Fig. 3, one ball 2 being mounted in each part, the blade-receiving space 3 between the two parts being wedge shaped, and the parts being adjustable towards each other, by screws 5, to suit the width of the blade. Fig. 12 shows a modification.
