Abstract

624,728. Optical projection apparatus. MASON, F. W., and GANTLETT, J. H. Nov. 26, 1946, No. 35088. [Class 97 (i)] A sight-testing appliance comprises a stand supporting a beam carrying a projector at one end and a reflecting mirror at the other and a viewing screen supported by a further arm, the image projected on the screen being viewed by the patient directly or by reflection in an observing mirror. As shown, the projector 6, mirror 7 and screen 8 are mounted respectively on a beam 5 and an arm 9 integral with the beam or separately journalled therewith to a column 4 carrying a control box 13 for the projection lamp and, if desired, the room lamp. The projector may be mounted in gimbals for universal movement and two such projectors may be provided for stereoscopic effects, the screen being observed in a mirror provided with a septum. Slides bearing movable parts for testing stigmatism may be projected.
