Abstract
1511629 Motion picture projectors FRANKE & HEIDECKE GmbH [trading as ROLLEI-WERKE FRANKE & HEIDECKE] 19 Aug 1976 [3 Nov 1975] 34615/76 Heading G2J A motion picture projector 1 has a first mirror 14 in the optical path between the objective 13 and a housing aperture 12, which can be swung out of the said path, and a second mirror 15 pivotally mounted over a further aperture 11. The arrangement enables the projector to be used either in the upright position of Fig. 1, in which case the aperture 12 becomes the projection aperture, or in the horizontal position of Fig. 2, in which case the aperture 11 becomes the projection aperture. The controls are arranged on the narrow side 1b of the projector housing. When the projector is used in the Fig. 2 position the mirrors are disposed as in Fig. 3. Mirror 14 is inclined at approximately 45 degrees to the beam from lens 13, which is reflected from mirror 14 to mirror 15, again inclined at 45 degrees to the beam, and hence projected in the required direction. For use in the Fig. 1 position, mirror 14 is swung out of the path of the beam from lens 13, which then emerges directly from aperture 12. In this case the position of mirror 15 is immaterial, and may be conveniently pivoted downwards to close the aperture 11. The two mirrors can be actuated simultaneously by a linkage mechanism, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), operated by a knob 10 on the housing.
