Abstract

708,439. Stereoscopic optical projection. WILLIAMSON MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. (Jackson, K. B.). May 15, 1952 [May 15, 1951], No. 11335/51. Class 97(1) A stereoscopic pair of pictures is projected on to a screen and a third image projected in such a way as to be adjustable on the screen and to be visible to both eyes of an observer e.g. in anaglyphic projection the third image is projected by white light. As shown, the projectors 1, 2 are carried on tables 5, 6 each having underneath at 8 a ball ended pivot resting in a socket on the base 7. A screw 21 is threaded into the front end of each table and the lower end rests on the base 7 without constraint. A screw 11 is threaded into the rear of each table and its lower end rests in a groove in one of two blocks 12, 13 engaging oppositely screw threaded parts of a rod 15 with handwheel 19. The smaller image is produced by a projector 4 having a universal mounting on a tripod 24 and being adjustable by a handle 25. The apparatus may be used for training stereoscopic vision.
