Abstract

614,473. Optical-projection apparatus; studios. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and WARMISHAM, A. May 28, 1946, No. 16238. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii)] A multiple head projector comprises a number of spaced projectors, each having its own projection lens, for projecting superimposed images of geometrically similar object pictures on to an image plane, the optical axis of each projection lens being at right angles to the object plane of the lens and parallel to the optical axes of the other projection lenses, whilst the image plane is approximately at right angles to the optical of the projection lenses, means being provided for adjusting each lens in a direction at right angles to its optical axis. As shown, the separate projectors have bases B secured to a main base A mounted on levelling screws K<1> at the end of arms K. The picture gates are represented at D and the objectives C have horizontal micrometer adjustments H<1> and vertical adjustments G<1>. Each lamphouse and condenser is adjustable in an arcuate guide J with its centre in the neighbourhood of the projection lens, to secure even illumination of the projected picture. The projector is used to secure a bright picture, by " back projection," as the background of a studio scene.
