Abstract

624,691. Shackles. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and Cross, H. Jan. 11, 1946, No. 1031. [Classes 24 and 89 (ii)] [Also in Group XI] A loop suspension device for electrical fittings has a nipple 10 through which a cable lead can pass, internally threaded at 11 for securing to the fitting. Two nuts 12 and 16 screw externally on the nipple, one or both being flanged toward the other. The ends 17 of the suspension loop ,14 pass through slots in the lower nut, these ends being turned up or deformed so that when the upper nut is screwed down against the lower, the loop ends are held between them and withdrawal prevented. An insulating threaded bush 18 protects the cable and also locks the nut 16.
